Laura Linney was one of the greatest American actors in recent history. Her savacious and vulnerable performances have made her a household famous. Her father was an acclaimed playwright. However, she was raised as a single child by a single mom and nurse. During the summers and with her father Linney was able to develop a passion for theater. Her first stage experience was initially in Brown University then at Juilliard School. The actress began her Broadway career soon after completing her degree in the year 2000, before making her TV debut in the next year. In the years since she has appeared in a variety of TV productions, films as well as stage productions. She has won many awards throughout her career. They include the four Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. However, despite all the awards, her passion for theater is still there constant, as she continues to perform both in the stage and on screen.
