Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
I was a gruelling 12 hours sanding floors, and taking wallpaper down with one child strapped on my back and the others climbing inside the playpen. Ha! We were getting closer to being done, yet we were a long way off. In order to furnish the house, it was going to take a lot of effort both in both time and funds. It was also going to be a challenge go to my favorite stores. My three sons and me were looking for the hidden treasures at estate sales to reduce my expenses. Each week we would spend the week of Thursday through Saturday at estate sales and garage sales buying brand new furniture. Then I repainted and smoothed the driveway in the week. What I saw looked something like... that's when my passion to restore furniture began. After our home was fully decorated, I couldn't quit! The local market had space for me to market my items. In the end, I had so many pieces I didn't think of a solution and I outgrew my space. At home, I began hosting open houses where more than 1000 guests could visit and purchase any product they wanted on the first floor within a single weekend. Growing Days was created in this house. Alongside my flourishing company, I also started our family. I was balancing the demands of what it was like to start a new business and be a mommy too. Growing Days seemed like the ideal match. The year 2013 was the year my daughter Nora was our fourth baby. While I was pleased with the direction that my business went, I was feeling like I had to take an occasional break. I opted to take a little time off from my vintage furniture and be at home with my children. It was time. After a few minutes, my phone began to ring. I was getting calls from people asking me for help in home improvement and design of interiors. These people had mostly visited my house at the open houses that were held for furniture. It wasn't long before I had a fully-fledged home renovation company. I began by taking clients with a speed I was at ease with. It is likely that I would have laughed if someone had told me the company was to become part of a forthcoming television show in the DIY Network. It's hilarious to look back on it.
